The Artemis World Cycle is a World Record attempt that has the power to capture the imagination of a global audience – and also to raise profile and funds for charities. This charity fundraising plan will go live during the summer of 2017, before the start on July 2nd and is through the Beaumont Foundation.
The Beaumont Foundation aims to support two fantastic beneficiaries from all fundraising – firstly Orkidstudio and secondly a scholarship fund for budding adventurers and broadcasters.
More information will be available here after the Around Britain training ride.
Orkidstudio is an inspiring grassroots organization, born out of Scotland, with a truly global impact. The name comes from the words orphan, kid and studio – a decade ago a student called James Mitchell decided to apply his architecture skills to create buildings that became the heart of communities and social enterprises that sustained these communities.
Mark Beaumont has been the Patron of Orkidstudio since 2010, raising awareness. In 2015, Mark’s Africa Solo World Record cycle from Cairo to Cape Town helped raise significant funds for Orkidstudio’s Sachibondu Hospital Project in Zambia.
